History of the Foundation

The President and CEO of the Gerda Lissner Foundation is Mrs. Dolores Anne Fraidé, the office is located at 135 East 55th Street, New York, NY 10022.

The Gerda Lissner Foundation was established by Mrs. Gerda Lissner to provide young Opera singers with the financial support they need to develop their craft and excel in their professional careers.

Each year, the Foundation holds an international vocal competition in New York City with the purpose of awarding monetary grants to today's most talented young singers, so that they may become the Opera Legends of tomorrow.

The amount of the grant is based upon placement in the competition, and grant money may be used for coaching, musical education, language study, and what will best help the grantees to pursue their career.
